BAUMSGARTSBRUNN – Minister of Youth, National Service, Sport and Culture, Jerry Ekandjo, yesterday lent an ear to the concerns of the Baumsgartsbrunn community in Windhoek Rural constituency, west of Windhoek, where community members came out to share their worries about the future. Ekandjo, who arrived at the meeting on a horse much to the delight – and chanting and praise-singing – of community members, assured that he would take up their concerns raised at the meeting.

“You have the right to discuss [issues with ministers]. We are your ministers. We are there for you. The future is ours and all of us must work together to shape the future of this country called Namibia. All the inhabitants of this country – irrespective of political affiliation, religion or whatever cultural background – the government is there to serve all people,” he said. Ekandjo also welcomed 70 community members who became new card-carrying members of Swapo.
