WINDHOEK – The case of Paulus Shaanika who is accused of stealing an Oxford Dictionary from CNA last Friday was remanded to January 23 next year by Magistrate Helvi Shilemba on Monday.

According to the annexure to the charge sheet Shaanika stole the dictionary valued at N$159.90 at CNA Wernhil Park.

Shaanika was not asked to plead, but his rights to legal representation were explained to him and he indicated that he would vigorously defend himself.

After State prosecutor Samantha Diergaardt asked the court to postpone the matter for plea and trial, Shaanika’s rights to disclosure was explained to him.

He was granted police bail of N$300 last Friday.
