WINDHOEK – FNB Namibia launched the Tennis Development Sponsorship in Windhoek last week where it pledged an amount of N$456 000 towards the Namibia Tennis Association for the tennis development programme.

Clara Bohitile, FNB Foundation member said FNB Namibia values sport and the contribution they make to any society and especially youngsters, and that is why the bank is a leader in supporting sports codes in Namibia, including tennis.

“There are physical as well as psychological reasons to play tennis such as the development of discipline, management of mistakes, development of a work ethic and the like. Other sport can provide excellent health benefits and some can promote mental and emotional growth, but none can compete with tennis in delivering overall physical, mental and emotional gains to those who play, hence the reason FNB’s support towards tennis development.

“The support will benefit the youth who are our future leaders by encouraging them to use their time productively and have tennis as an extramural activity.”

FNB Namibia has been the supporter of tennis development for many years and has invested more than N$2 million in its development.
