WINDHOEK – Brave Gladiators midfielder Thomalina Adams scored a brilliant goal with a piece of individual brilliance in an exciting 1-all draw against Bochum on their safari to Germany last week.

According to Jackey Gertze, the team gave a good account of themselves in their third match on German soil and it was only fitting that Adams scored against new employers Bochum. “She will be staying on when the tour is over and for her to score and have an overall good outing was just what the good doctor ordered. The entire team played with so much enthusiasm and the girls were a marvel to watch,” enthused Gertze, adding that head coach Jacqui Shipanga was very impressed with the team’s progress.

“Jacqui is happy with the players’ overall commitment towards the training camp, the training sessions and all the warm-up games the team played so far.”

The Gladiators lost 2-3 against Westphalia Under-17 team with Vistorina Shangula and Maggy Paulus netting a goal apiece, while the Namibians walloped TSV Brekefeld 11-0 in their opening match, which was followed by the one-all stalemate against Bochum in Westphalia.

The team is staying at the sports centre of the Westphalia Football Association, venue to  great hotels and world-class sporting facilities.
