WINDHOEK

Police are offering N$60 000 to anyone who would provide information that would lead to the arrest of the suspect(s) in respect of a woman whose mutilated body was found along the Windhoek/Okahandja main road over the weekend.

Chief Inspector Angula Amalungu says the information can be forwarded to chief Inspector Unandapo of the serious Crime Unit at (061) 209 4302 or 0811240521 or the nearest police station.

He said the police appreciate any assistance towards solving this case as well as that of the late Juanita Mabula.

Amalungu also called on the general public to assist the police in identifying the body.

“It would be difficult to determine the age of the deceased by looking at her body, as some people’s bodies are bigger than their exact age,” stated Amalungu.

No arrest has been made so far, but police investigations into the gruesome murder continue.

At the same time the police are still investigating a hit-and-run case where 30-year-old Desmond Sabab was killed. The accident took place over the weekend on the Monte Cristo road around 19h00. Sabab died at the scene.

The police have not yet ascertained the vehicle that the suspect/suspects were driving.

According to an eyewitness, the car was too fast for them to identify and it was also too dark. The deceased’s next of kin are already informed. Police investigations continue.

– Meanwhile, one person was burned beyond recognition in his shack at Hakahana location over the weekend. He was identified as Kalimbwe Tale.
Tale burned in his room early Sunday at around 05h45. His age is not known but his brother identified the body. The police could also not detect the cause of the fire.

All his belongings burned to ashes.

Another case under police investigation is that of a young man, believed to be in his late twenties, who was found buried under a heap of goat dung some few kilometres between Schlip and Klein Aub. The deceased’s name is not yet known.
