South African-based mystic medium, Sue du Randt, believes there is more than one person involved in the gruesome killings which have up to now been ascribed to the elusive “Khomas Butcher”.

A mystic medium, Du Randt has worked on a number of cases with the South African Police involving murdered and missing persons.

According to her, a network of men might be involved.

She is also of the opinion that the same killers were responsible for the Juanita Mabula murder, and more, over a period of roughly 10 years.
“This is definitely serial killing,” she commented, pointing out that the same methods were being employed in the murders.

Du Randt thinks that as many as eight women – all black and prostitutes between the ages of 18 and 24 – have been murdered. Not all the women were Namibians, but some from other African countries as well.

“If these men are not found the murders will escalate,” she warned.

“Before there were periods of six to eight months before they murdered, but it is definitely on the increase.”

The killers, she added, may come across as gentle and compassionate.

“They come across as decent people, but when it comes to killing, they turn into absolute sadists. Murdering their victims is the ultimate power game because it puts them in complete control of the situation.”

Asked what kind of backgrounds the killers have, Du Randt said that they must have been abused or raped as children.

“They do not have any bond with their family or friends. Their entire lives were a power struggle with their parents who oppressed them and would not allow them to think for themselves.”

She described the murderers as highly intelligent, adding that they do not leave any DNA on the bodies of the murdered women.

Her advice to sex workers is to get organized and establish a network of their own.

“They should keep a record of their clients, get their names and car registration numbers, and never leave with a man without the knowledge of all the other women in her group. Perhaps they should get one person to keep track of everyone’s movements and pay a small fee towards that person,” she suggested.

Meanwhile, the police on Friday once again made a request to members of the public to come forward with any information on the crime.

In a statement, the police urged the public to come forward without any fear of reprisal from the suspect, promising that the information will be treated confidentially.

“The Namibian Police would like to once again assure members of the public that information provided will be treated with the utmost confidentiality it deserves. Therefore, there is no need for fear of reprisal from the suspect.”

Chief Inspector Angula Amulungu also warned against spreading rumours about a suspect being caught. The police will address the media today, he promised.

Meanwhile, speculation has been rife in the capital since Friday that the police have arrested a suspect. Speculation was that the suspect was a medical doctor. Police dismissed this as rumour.
