WINDHOEK
A scam in which prospective homeowners were forced to grease the palms of an inspector, who authorises the construction of all buildings at Rundu, was exposed this week and the suspect arrested by Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) agents.
The suspect, Laurentz Mushishi Likoro (30), solicited from prospective homeowners whom he informed he could expedite the approval of draft plans attached to the applications for new buildings if they gave him bribes in return for quick service.
Those who did not submit to his underhand dealings had to endure a permanent wait that frustrated some of them to eventually part with their hard-earned cash, according to ACC.
ACC Director, Paulus Noa, narrated one of the “victims” paid a bribe of N$1?
