WINDHOEK – The Ecumenical Social Diaconate Action (ESDA)’s Friendly Haven, a shelter for abused women and children, is celebrating the Day of the Namibian Child with the children from the Sonder Water community this Friday at the ESDA Conference & Training Centre in Hochland Park.
The event will be hosted under the theme “No child Left Behind for Africa’s Development” to emphasise the need to mainstream children’s rights in all spheres of the child’s development. Organisers say violence against children is an alarming concern to Namibian communities, and every child in Namibia, regardless of their socio economic background or status has the right to be protected and enjoy their rights without fear. The event starts at 11h00 until 15h30 in the afternoon.
