WINDHOEK
Mandume Primary School under the sponsorship of the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, with the input of local artist Ndasuunje ‘Papa’ Shikongeni, recently conducted an arts workshop.
Nineteen talented learners depicted through their drawings issues related to Venezuela and Namibia. “Our education must support and encourage the foundation of visual art and art in general. We need future creative industry for the economy development and sustainability,” Papa wrote on his Facebook page.
This is the first time that this type of interaction between the embassy and a primary school in Namibia has been undertaken and it is expected to further strengthen the ties in this and other areas of culture and education to the advantage of both people from both countries.
