I am a strong believer in silently and positively influencing many people, the Unam model way. Unam has silently shown the way in Namibia on how to positively and significantly influence society. Its powerful services decentralisation model is unmatched in Namibia.
Having started with only one main campus and now with close to 14 satellite campuses and centres around the country, Unam has gone a very long way to evenly redistribute to the local population, in the process helping to make tertiary education-hungry students choose whether they come to Windhoek or stay closer home but still able to access tertiary education. That way Unam is doing justice to the slogan of ‘Education for All’. This also helps the City of Windhoek to cope with less people than before Unam powerfully, silently and un-acknowledgedly made the positive contribution to the demographic balancing efforts in Namibia. Kudos to Unam!
As a Unam loyalist, I can fully attest to this less publicised fact in Namibia.
