Windhoek
Renowned veteran singer and songwriter Jonathan Butler graced the stage at this year’s Windhoek Jazz Festival at the Hage Geingob Stadium on Saturday night and offered a delightful mix of funky smooth jazz and R&B.
He proved he is definitely a force to be reckoned with when he performed his breezy acoustic guitar melodies “I stand on your world”, “Sarah Sarah” and “Lies” from his worship CD “Falling in Love with Jesus.”
Thousands of music lovers were also given a real treat by his rendition of songs with his soaring, gritty but beautiful voice that transported listeners to deeper realms both emotionally and spiritually. He ended the show in style, leaving the audiences craving for more and screaming “we want more…we want more…we want more”.
Those who came to witness the jazz legend surely enjoyed the entire festival together with their camping chairs, cooler boxes filled with drinks and the barbecue on offer.
Artists who performed before Jonathan Butler were Sean K, Dixon, Fu Jazz, Zenzo, Lize Elthers and Hip Hop Pantsula, who all did not disappoint.
