The Ohlthaver & List (O&L) Group has congratulated the 2015 winners in the Deloitte Best Company To Work For (BCTWF) survey that took place recently.
The Trustco Group was voted the winner in the Large Company Category, while Old Mutual and Agra took second and third places respectively. The Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) Fund scooped the number one spot under the Small and Medium-sized category, with NAMFISA second and Santam in third place.
O&L Group human capital director Berthold Mukuahima was invited to hand over the respective prizes to the winners and recipients. He said: “O&L is in full support of all Namibian companies that strive to become employers of choice by creating a working environment that prioritises the wellbeing of its employees. A happy employee equals a productive employee. The O&L Group hereby wishes to congratulate all participants and winners of the 2015 annual Deloitte Best Company To Work For survey results.”
For the past seven years, the O&L Group has measured its progress by using the Deloitte BCTWF survey. This enabled the Group to benchmark its HR practices against leading organisations in Namibia and SADC. “The O&L Group has for three consecutive years won the survey as Best Company To Work For in both Namibia and the SADC region in the Large Company category.
“By winning the BCTWF Award, O&L has experienced an increase in attracting and retaining talent. Since the results of the survey are based on the views of our employees, we have over the years used the results to improve the working conditions and have enhanced the employment experience over time,” said Mukuahima.
The O&L Group earlier this year announced that it will not participate in the survey, as it is in the process of exploring new opportunities to measure its employee experience.
“As the largest private employer in Namibia, the O&L Group remains committed to creating an environment that is reflective of our employees’ experience. As a consecutive winner of the survey in the SADC region, we have decided to take our Employer of Choice commitment to a global level and to hold ourselves to even higher standards by exploring different options on a global front, in which the Group can benchmark our people management practices with leading international companies.
“We are excited to source new and challenging employee engagement and satisfaction survey opportunities that will build on our successes to date on our journey to ‘Creating a future, enhancing life’.
We remain deeply committed to being the employer of choice and look forward to maintaining and growing our working environment, as well as our commitment to our employees through best international practices”, said Mukuahima.
Mukuahima concluded by encouraging Namibian companies to make use of platforms, such as the Deloitte BCTWF survey, to become better carers of their employees.
