WINDHOEK-Collabo Clothing line members gave a surprise Valentine’s visit to the Orlindi Place of Safety Orphanage in Katutura last Saturday.
They gave children Valentine’s gifts, food, cosmetics and clothes and hosted a a party for them. Hafeni Mungungu, a member of Collabo Clothing, says Valentine’s Day to many is the day for lovers only but for them they decided to spend it with the kids to show them love and give them gifts. “We decide to do something different for Valentine’s and give back to the community and Orlindi Place of Safety Orphanage was our best option,” says Mungungu.
Collabo is a small trading enterprise owned by five Polytechnic of Namibia students. “We were very happy to share the little we make with the community and to just organise a little Valentine’s for this vulnerable kids was an incredible idea, they were really happy to see and spend a day with us, we give them food and love,” concludes Mungungu.
Rosalinda Namises, the caretaker of the orphanage, says the Collabo group did a very good thing by visiting them. “The kids were very happy to be with them as they did not have a party in a long time. It is good to know there are people out there that care and love them,” she says. Orlindi is situated in Paul Elrich Strasse Donkerhoek in Katutura and it is a home to 36 vulnerable children.
