Topline Brahman and Simmentaler breeds will go under the hammer this coming Friday at the Northern Select’s much-anticipated auction at Agra Pens in Grootfontein, where some of the country’s best-kept bulls and females will be on display.
As per the Northern Select Group’s tradition, Friday’s auction will again see the crème de la crème of Namibia’s Brahman and Simmentaler animals on full parade, and uncompressed quality and temperament of the two breeds on offer will again be the hogging headline on the day.
On offer, this Friday will be 17 Simmentaler bulls from veteran farmer Sidney Martin’s Promatria/Buschbrunn Simmentaler, Okasim Simmentaler and Arla Simmentaler.
Over 46 well-rounded white Brahman bulls from Sidney Martin Brahmans, Kupferberg Brahmans, Okabra Brahmans, Karla Brahmans and Harrobi Brahmans will also be on offer.
The auction will also offer upcoming farmers and those looking to transform their herds with top-quality animals an opportunity, as over 45 white Brahman Females from Kupferberg Brahmans, Okabra Brahmans and Harrobi Brahmans will also be offered.
The Northern Select Croup, which offers the very best Brahman and Simmentaler stud animals twice a year through its winter sale in Windhoek and summer sale in Grootfontein, was established in 1994 by a group of breeders from the Grootfontein and Otavi area.
The group, which hosted their first combined sale in November 1994, consists of Mecki and Brigitte Schneider of Okabra Brahmans; Kupferberg Brahmans of Gunther and Charlotte Hellinghausen; Arla Simmentalers of Ulla van Biljon; Harrobi White Brahmans of Hagen and Birgit Eggert and Promatria/Buschbrunn Simmentalers of Sidney Martin.
The group hosts its auctions in collaboration with Agra Stud Services and offers their best quality stud cattle – not only to stud breeders but to all Namibian commercial and communal farmers who are ready to pursue quality farming.
