OSHAKATI –Johannes Hailondjamba, Loise Iimvula and Cleopatra Shiponga on Saturday secured their spots in the finals of the 2023 Nedbank Kapana Cook-Off competition.
The three pulled out all stops to impress the judges during the first preliminary round of the competition in Oshakati.
This opening round saw 60 participants vying for a chance to win a fully-furnished mobile food truck worth N$100 000, and a cash prize of N$10 000.
The final will take place during the Ongwediva Trade Fair on 26 August this year.
Nedbank Namibia head of marketing and communications Gernot de Klerk said after an amazing day of festivities, it is exciting to see new and returning faces taking part in the competition.
“It’s moments like these which assert the significance the competition has in the community, especially after seeing the turnout of over 60 participants we had today,” he noted.
De Klerk stressed that Nedbank Namibia is proud of being one of the leading institutions aiding in SME development through initiatives like this, and will continue doing so for years to come.
“We hope to see others also take heed and participate in this competition so that they too can stand a chance of winning big,” he added.
The competition will continue with the coastal round in Walvis Bay on Saturday, 8 July, and the central round in Windhoek on Saturday, 5 August before the final in Ongwediva.
