The Namibian Police has recorded two murder cases. In one of the cases, a 25-year-old man was stabbed to death at Nkurenkuru, Kavango West. In the second case, a 27-year-old woman was stabbed to death at the Oshaampula village in the Oshikoto region.
In Nkurenkuru the incident was reported that on Friday, at 20h00, Nauyoma Leevi Mandema, a Namibian male, was stabbed to death with a knife at a local liquor spot at Nkurenkru.
A 29-year-old Namibian male suspect was arrested in connection of is his death. According to police information, it is alleged that the suspect stabbed the victim with an okapi knife on the left side of the chest, and the victim succumbed to injuries on the spot.
Meanwhile, at Onayena Oshaampula village in the Okankolo constituency, Oshikoto region, the incident was reported to have happened at around 00h05, where 27-year-old, Raina Shihepo, was killed with a knife by an 18-year-old suspect.
The crime was allegedly committed at Okadhiya cuca shop, where the suspect allegedly stabbed the victim with an Okapi knife on the back, which caused her death.
The victim was a bar lady at one of the cuca shops, while the suspect is a domestic worker at Oshampula village.
The suspect has been arrested. On Saturday, 20 May 2023 at about 00h30, Kleophas Tuulitate Shivolo (30) was declared dead at Oshakati state hospital, in the Oshana region.
It is alleged that the victim consumed alcohol with others at a wedding at Onangalo, Outapi, in the Omusati region. The alcohol was taken between 14h00 and 19h00. When the victim got drunk, he was taken into the car and started vomiting.
“The girlfriend advised the friend to take him to the hospital. They rushed to the hospital – and at around 00h30, he was declared dead by the medical officials. It is alleged that the deceased undergone heart surgery while he was younger, and he was told not to consume alcohol by the medical doctor,” said the police.
“The cause of death is not yet known. The body is kept in the state mortuary, pending post-mortem investigations. His next of kin are informed,” police said.
