Rugby action continues this weekend as the Namibia Rugby Union (NRU) premier league enters its second round, promising fans thrilling matches. Matches will be held across the premier, reserve, and women’s division.
In the premier division, Dolphins, newcomers to the league, will face Grootfontein, while Unam, coming off a victory against Wanderers, will take on United Gemsbokkies. Wanderers, looking to bounce back from their initial loss, will host Kudus, and Reho Falcons will clash with Western Suburbs.
Dolphin’s Hauta Veii expressed readiness for the upcoming fixtures, emphasizing their determination to rebound from their previous defeat. He highlighted their thorough preparation and understanding of their opponents, aiming to secure points at their home ground with strong support from their fans.
“I believe our preparation has been thorough. We’ve assessed our strengths and identified areas for improvement. Heading into this weekend, we’re familiar with our opponent’s strategies, which gives us an advantage. Our focus is on securing points at home, and we call upon our fans to rally behind us. This marks our first home match since our promotion to the premier and reserve league, and we’re eager to make it memorable,” he said
In the men’s reserve league, fixtures are expected to mirror those of the premier league, while in the women’s division, defending champions Unam will face United Gemsbokkies, Wanderers will challenge Kudus, and Reho Falcons will go head-to-head with Oceans Bokkies.
