The 2022 Annual Tsumeb Copper Festival has attracted a large number of exhibitors, mostly corporate entities, who will showcase their products and services at what promises to be the best festival yet.
After a two-year hiatus, as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, this year’s festival has attracted over 120 exhibitors. The much anticipated copper festival, which will be held at United Nation’s Park in Tsumeb, from 3 to 5 November, is themed ‘Wiring Namibia Towards Industrial Innovation’.
The first Tsumeb Copper Festival was held in 2002.
Minister of Agriculture, Water and Land Reform, Calle Schlettwein will officiate at the opening of the festival this Friday.
According to the chairperson of the Tsumeb Copper Festival, Julius Gaeseb, different types of exhibitors, including small and medium enterprises, industrial, commercial, corporate as well as government entities will be featured at the festival.
“This year, the organising committee is pleased that a majority of corporate entities have shown interest in attending the festival,” said Gaeseb.
He said pre-copper festival activities have already started such as the Miss Copper Festival 2022 held on 28 October and the Sporting Bonanza and Copper Festival Marathon on 29 October.
Other activities lined up include a business conference to be held at Kupferquelle resort tomorrow, Farmer’s Day on Friday (4 November) as well as a musical bash by Tsumeb artists on the last day of the festival.
Dundee Precious Metals is the main sponsor of the copper festival. Other sponsors include Standard Bank, FNB, MTC, Bank Windhoek, Cenored, Agribank and Nampost amongst others.
