Last week, Telecom Namibia (TN) celebrated its 30th anniversary and at the same occasion inaugurated the TN Drum Award to its loyal customers. The event was held in the capital, and attended by delegates from various ministries and high-ranking officials from institutions of governing structures.
The milestone celebration was also an opportunity for the company to reflect on its journey over the past 30 years of enabling digital communication, and to take an optimistic leap into the future.
At the event, Telecom CEO Stanley Shanapinda said as a national telecommunications service provider, it’s their responsibility to continue providing services in all four corners of Namibia at the best price and speediest pace. He added that notable projects the company is embarking on will spearhead a digital transformation journey to support the country’s Vision 2030, Fourth Industrial Revolution, the fifth National Development Plan and Harambee Prosperity Plan II objectives.
“As your national telecommunications service provider, we provide services in all four corners of the country, both rural and urban alike – from communal to commercial farms. We will continue to support you and provide the services that you need, at the best possible price and at the best possible quality and speed,” said Shanapinda.
The CEO also thanked all Telecom’s loyal customers, saying it’s important to show a gesture of appreciation. “Our pledge is that we will continue to run special offers to give back to you, at no extra cost. As we continue to improve our network, we will continue to give back to you as a way of thanking you for your loyalty, understanding and valuable support,” Shanapinda observed.
The TN Drum award winners were categorised from large enterprises, gold enterprises, and corporates. Recipients were graced with gold, silver and bronze, certificates and trophies, signifying their value roles to TN Mobile.
Also, Nampost, Paratus, the Namibian Police and other institutions and corporates such as Swakop Uranium received awards.
