Top horse Unbroken Promises on Saturday dominated proceedings at the FNB July Handicap held in Okahatjipara, win the Import 2400 category.
In a tight contest, Unbroken Promises was followed by Port Keys in second place, and
Visigoth in third position while Starlile took home fourth place. Meanwhile, the Nambred 1800m was won by Lady Diamond followed by Sunny Side and Black River taking third position, while Freedom Fighter in fourth position.
Forged in Flames claimed top spot in the Import 1600m followed by Diamond Jack while On The Warpath was in third position and Freedom Fighter in fourth position.
In the Nambred 1600m, Supporter won the race followed by Bin Laden while Right Win came in third position. Silver Sun claimed fourth position.
Able Surprise won the Import 1400m, followed by Trip to Freedom in second place while Extreme Pain in third position and Nan finishing fourth.
In the Import Maiden Graduation, Stoutman claimed top spot while Mr Aminuis came in second position and Gus in third position. Triple the Tiger finished fourth.
In another exciting race, which was the Nambred 1400m, Boma won the race followed by Life is Good while Shinning Diamond was in third position with Market Marvel in fourth position.
Mbinae Kasume won the Nambred Maiden A 1400m division, followed by Shokolate and Flowing Water in third position, and in fourth position was Hearts Gold.
Unbroken Promises again proved to be strong as the horse won the Import A 1000m followed by Able Surprise and top horse Visigoth in third position, while Extreme Pain finished fourth.
In the Nambred A Division 1000m, Lady Diamond dominated proceedings win the race followed by Black River and Sunny Side in third position. Ekuva finished fourth place.
Speaking to this publication, Timo Mujeu who is one of the organisers of the event, expressed satisfaction with the number of participants. He said the competition proved that this sport has grown tremendously.
He further said they hope to have another exciting and bigger event next year, which will include everyone in the country as well as international participants.
“We are happy with the turnout today; I am impressed with the competition on the tracks. It was tight and it is good to see in terms of the growth of sport.
“However, I can say that the sport has grown in the past few months, we want to see this happening in every corner of the country. We are looking forward to having a bigger and better event next year,” he said.
