Women and children continue to suffer sexual violence at the hands of men as the police investigate several cases in which three women and a boy were sexually violated over the weekend.
According to the weekly crime report, on Friday, between 16h00 and 17h00, near the white gravel road in an open field in Rehoboth’s Block H, a 15-year-old suspect, invited two minor boys to play with him in the field, and while one boy was riding a bicycle, he took the six-year-old victim in the bushes and sexually molested him.
He was arrested. On Thursday night at Oshikango in the Oshipwatapwata location, a 41-year-old suspect raped a 14-year-old girl after he lured her with N$300.
It is further alleged he took the victim to his room, where he had sexual intercourse with her. At Sesfontein, a case of rape and assault to do grievous bodily harm (GBH) was registered on Saturday at about 20h00.
A 28-year-old suspect raped a 33-year-old female victim. The crime report alleged the suspect demanded sex from the victim, and a fight broke out between the two, whereby the suspect had sexual intercourse with the victim and beat her in the face with fists and strangled her.
The police investigation continues. The police at Ariamsvlei on Sunday registered a rape case that alleged the suspect, a 35-year-old man, raped a 29-year-old victim, who is a cousin of his girlfriend, while she was asleep. It is alleged the victim and the suspect lived together at the same house, where they were drinking. The victim allegedly fell asleep, and when she woke up, the suspect was on top of her, having sexual intercourse with her without consent.
