Rose-Mary Haufiku
Markus Tuyoleni Haufiku, also known as Markes, is hard at work finalising the video for his song ‘Sê’ from the album ‘The cleverness’ released last December.
This is the kwaito musician’s second album, and comprises 12 tracks.
Among those 12, Haufiku pointed out three songs his fans should pay close attention to.
“‘My darling’, ‘Sê’, and ‘Kali wali’ are my top three favourites, and I am recommending them for you guys to listen to,” he told his fans through VIBEZ!
He featured Borro and Plocks on ‘Sê’, and the video is expected to drop month-end.
Haufiku stated that this album symbolises “something done intelligently, logically and sharply”.
The 22-year-old revealed that he joined the music industry in 2015, and that’s when the Markes brand was established.
“I came in with a brand because my first single ‘Toti Ngeipi’ did well in numbers. Views were skyrocketing on YouTube, received massive radio play across the country, and the reviews I got back from people were really pleasing for a beginner,” he added.
After the success of his first single, Haufiku began to release a series of singles, and then released ‘The Rocket’, his first album, in September 2020.
“My first album sold out in the North; sales were higher than we thought they would be.”
For his latest album, Haufiku had collaborations with artists such as Manxebe, Kaboy Kamakili and other local artists.
“I worked with Chaki Beats, who’s my producer. Then I paired up with some great upcoming artists in the likes of Kune-Kune, Xiddo M the Legend and Namkasie.”
Haufiku said he looks forward to dropping more albums in years to come.
