Congratulations are in order for the new Miss and Mr Supranational Namibia 2022, Julita Kitwe Mbangula and Jean-Luis Knouwds. They bested several other contestants from across the country for the coveted titles on Saturday night at SKW in Windhoek.
Miss Supranational 2021 Chanique Rabe from Namibia and Mr Supranational 2021 Varo Vargas from Peru graced the event. Themed ‘Aspirational, Inspirational’ this year, the Miss and Mr Supranational Namibia are local pageants that train and uplift young Namibian women and men. The winners will compete internationally at Miss and Mr Supranational, set for 16 July this year in Poland.
The Miss Supranational Namibia first runner-up is An’Mire Uris, with Varaa Hambira coming in third.
Sylvanus Nepolo and Danny Shikwambi came first and second in the Mr Supranational Namibia competition.
On stage, Mbangula, a medical doctor at the Oshakati Intermediate Hospital, spoke proudly about the importance of compassion, and how she is using her title to influence and challenge the norm surrounding beauty pageants and medicine.
“I represent something unique; a group of multifaceted women who want to make a success of their lives, regardless of the cards dealt to them,” she added. In an interview with VIBEZ!, the winner said she is big on community service, and her fans should expect more charity work during her reign. “As a medical doctor, I have decided to move back to my community and serve my people who have ignited my love and passion for medicine in the first place,” said the 26-year-old beauty queen. Mbangula observed that the Miss Supranational Namibia platform aligns with her aim to live a purposeful and intentional life, much like the inspirational women who came before her.
Also speaking to VIBEZ!, Knouwds said he aims to use the title not only to uplift himself, but also those around him.
