SWAKOPMUND – President Nangolo Mbumba has encouraged voters to vote for Swapo presidential candidate Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, to ensure the continuation of Swapo’s long-standing leadership and governance track record. Mbumba made the call during a Swapo star rally held on Sunday at the DRC Sports Field, where he addressed thousands of supporters.
He said trust in leadership is not something that can be purchased but must be earned through consistent dedication, competence, and integrity – qualities that Swapo has demonstrated for over three decades.
“You cannot buy trust; you earn it through action and service… Swapo has earned the trust of the Namibian people through our unwavering commitment to peace, stability, and development since independence,” Mbumba, who at one point served as Swapo secretary general, stated.
He said it is of utmost importance to support Swapo and its presidential candidate in the upcoming elections as they have extensive experience, in government and promoting unity.
“Comrade Nandi-Ndaitwah has the leadership, experience, and vision needed to continue the work Swapo has done over the years. Her record speaks for itself, and I urge you to put your trust in her.”
He also advised supporters to remember that unity within the party is essential for the nation’s progress, adding that Swapo’s leadership has always prioritised the welfare of all Namibians, regardless of their background.
Mbumba also emphasised the importance of unity, and Swapo’s long-standing record of governance, pointing out that the party is not a newcomer to the political arena.
“Our country is rich in natural resources. We cannot continue exporting raw materials. We need to create jobs and wealth by adding value to these resources right here in Namibia. “Therefore, Nandi-Ndaitwah is the right candidate, and the next president of Namibia. She has served this country diligently for years, and now it is time for her to lead,” he said.
