The festive season in Katima Mulilo is set to kick off with a bang as the Zanami Investment prepares to host the highly anticipated ‘Ke Dizemba Vibes’ event.
The Katima Mulilo Sports Complex will transform into a hub of excitement, from 19 to 22 December, bringing together families, local and international artists, sports enthusiasts, and local businesses for four days of non-stop entertainment.
Event organiser Ronald Mutakela and the Zanami team said the festival will offer something for everyone, combining sports, music, and local culture to create a memorable hol i day experience. As a major event in the region, it promises to be an opportunity for both social connection and business growth, benefiting local enterprises and entertainers.
“We are not just creating a festival; we’re creating a community event that brings families together to enjoy the holidays. Our goal is to offer something for everyone whether you love sports like soccer, netball, and volleyball, or you’re more into music and live performances.
This event is all about bonding, fun, and building lasting memories,” he said.
Mutakela added that the festival’s diverse offerings include live performances from artists across Zambia, South Africa, and local talent, as well as a variety of sports tournaments. But the event’s impact goes far beyond entertainment.
“Ki Dizemba Vibes is also about empowering our local businesses. We’ve provided a platform for over 30 local entrepreneurs to showcase their products and services. Not only are we giving them exposure, but we’ve also created job opportunities by hiring more than 30 people for the event and employing eight permanent staff members from the Zambezi region. The festival is contributing to the economic growth of Katima Mulilo and attracting attention from businesses across Namibia and the SADC region,” he said.
The event is expected to draw patrons from across Namibia and beyond, offering opportunities for local businesses to engage with a diverse audience. From catering services to accommodation, the influx of visitors creates a ripple effect in local commerce, benefiting a wide range of sectors.
Despite challenges they faced throughout the planning phase earlier this year, they have made sure to bring this event close to perfection.
They went through the rough phases of organizing and trying to pull themselves together to be fully ready.
“Our biggest request is for more organizations to come on board and bring joy to the masses of Zambezi through social corporate responsibilities.
Together we can make such moments better, our doors are open to many sponsors to come and see how we work and get to a higher level in 2025,” he said.
