Chile will be aiming for a strong restart in the NDTC Futsal League when they face a struggling Boston Madrid side on Saturday.
The league returns following a lengthy break since June.
About 10 matches are scheduled to take place at the Windhoek Showgrounds this weekend.
Chile currently sits comfortably at the top of the standings with 56 points, holding a six-point lead over second-placed Quality.
They have amassed 50 points in the top-flight Futsal League.
The clash between Chile and Boston Madrid is set for 17h00.
Speaking to this publication, Chile’s head coach Mefflint De Waal expressed confidence in his team’s readiness to pick up from where they left off before the break.
He noted that the break provided an opportunity to refine their tactics and address weaknesses.
“We experimented with a new playing style and worked hard on areas that needed improvement. This process has greatly boosted the players’ confidence. We are looking forward to resuming the league,” he said.
Futsal Namibia’s communications manager Greyeno Rusberg shared excitement about the league’s return and called on fans to show their support.
“We’re thrilled to have futsal back. There are 10 matches lined up this weekend. I’m sure fans have missed the action. I urge them to come out in numbers and support their teams. Moreover, the Maxi Cup is around the corner next weekend, so fans should brace for back-to-back futsal excitement,” he said.
In other fixtures on Saturday, WIAS, currently 13th with 14 points, will take on 15th-placed 7 Kings, who sit on 12 points.
The Mavericks, placed ninth, are set for a challenging encounter against sixth-placed Ballers, who boast 33 points.
Struggling JAC, anchored near the bottom, will face Demia, who are 12th with 12 points.
Eighth-placed Ragazzi will have a tough task when they square off against high-flying Flying V.
Meanwhile, fifth-placed X-Men are scheduled to battle it out against INEOS, who currently occupy 10th spot on the log.
