Tangeni Keanu Romario Haraseb, also known as Kidd Mario Nam, is back with a single, ‘Tsu-Ta Ra’, a track rooted in Afrobeat and Damara fusion.
‘Tsu-Ta Ra’, a Damara phrase which means “I’m hurting”, the song is a raw and emotional story of a heartbreak, asking the piercing question, “Why are you leaving when I’m already hurting?”
“Produced by Staxx Major, Seaside Music Productions, and Ally the Mini King from Unique Records, ‘Tsu-Ta Ra’ is more than just a song; it’s a piece of my soul. It’s my story, but also the story of anyone who’s ever loved and lost,” Kidd Mario Nam said.
His rise to fame began in 2017 when he was nominated for two NAMA awards for Best Afro Pop and Best Damara Punch, especially for his work with Kaptain Twasiz, immediately making his mark in the local scene.
That same year, he performed alongside the House Guru Gang. His debut album, ‘Right on Time’, established him as an artist to watch, followed by ‘Twisted Heart’ in 2019.
His journey has not only been about solo achievements but also collaborations that have advanced his career.
“Those collaborations showed me the power of unity in music. Every time I share my sound with another artist, I learn something new about myself,” he said.
After five years of silence, Kidd Mario Nam chose to step back into the spotlight; however, behind the scenes, he was reflecting, growing and preparing a sound that would resonate more deeply with his audience.
“I needed that time to breathe and figure out what I wanted to say; this break was not an absence, it was evolution.”
The musician is preparing to release his new album, L.I.L.Y’ (Lost in Loving You), scheduled for February 2026. This project explores diverse themes of love, loss and self-discovery. His goal is to elevate Namibia’s presence on the global stage.
“I’m here to make music that lasts, that moves people and carries our Namibian spirit to every corner of the globe,” said the musician.
Kidd Mario Nam plans to release three more singles this year before December. ‘Tsu-Ta Ra’ was released on 30 July and is available on all music platforms.-monikaamunyela2@gmail.com
