Action in the Khomas Netball League resumes tomorrow with a highly anticipated Super 10 division clash between Afrocats Lions and Go Monate Fella at the Wanderers Netball Courts in Windhoek.
The match gets underway at 18h00, followed by a second fixture pitting NDF against Wanderers Netball Club.
Afrocats coach Dimitri Bittler expressed confidence in his side’s readiness ahead of the weekend ties, saying they are determined to collect maximum points.
“We take every match as it comes. We don’t want to put any pressure on ourselves, but I would say my players are ready and we are gunning for maximum points against them. We know it’s not going to be an easy tie, but we are up for the challenge,” he said.
Bittler acknowledged the strength of their opponents but believes his squad has done the groundwork needed to match them.
“Playing a team like Go Monate Fella is not a walk in the park, but I believe we have done all the preparation this week. They are a good side with experienced players. However, we have all our top players available for this weekend. I believe we are ready to take up the challenge,” he added.
In other Friday action, Golden Girls, leaders of the first division, will take on United at 19h30.
Saturday will see a full day of matches in the Super 10 division, starting with Afrocats Lions against NUST A at 08h00, followed by United versus NDF Windhoek at 09h30.
At 12h30, table-toppers Golden Girls lock horns with Afrocats in what promises to be an intense battle before NUST A return to face United at 14h00.
The first division fixtures include NUST against Zebra Force at 09h30 – while in the second division, United and NUST will clash at 12h30.
Later, Tura Magic will face City of Windhoek at 14h00.
Golden Girls captain Jacky Ortman said her side is determined to keep their winning momentum as the league nears its climax.
“I think the games are intensifying, as the league is moving closer to its end. Every team is giving it their all to ensure points are collected. On our side, we are happy to be on top. We are looking forward to extending our lead in the premier league,” she said.
