ONDANGWA – The Ondangwa Magistrate’s Court last week denied bail to a man accused of murdering his wife at a cuca shop in full view of the public and the victim’s mother.

Immanuel Hainyanyula (49) made his first court appearance on Wednesday on a charge of murder, read with the provisions of domestic violence.

Hainyanyula is accused of fatally stabbing his 38-year-old wife, Kristofina Hainyanyula, four times. The incident allegedly occurred at Omanyanga village, Onkumbula, in the Oshikoto region.

According to the police, the attack happened around 14h00 on Monday at the village cuca shops.

It is alleged that Hainyanyula pulled out a kitchen knife and stabbed his wife, who was in the company of her mother, several times in the chest and back, killing her instantly.

Police reported that eyewitnesses said the suspect did not exchange any words with the deceased before stabbing her.
