Brave Warriors coach Collin Benjamin has announced a 25-man provisional squad ahead of Namibia’s final two group stage matches in the 2026 Fifa World Cup qualifiers.

Benjamin’s squad includes fresh additions, with Kennedy Eib, Willy Stephanus, Tjipee Karuuombe and Jonas Mateus drafted into the provisional list after missing out on the trip to Francistown, Botswana, for the qualifiers against Malawi and São Tomé.

Namibia face a daunting task, as both fixtures will be played away from home.

The Brave Warriors travel first to Monrovia to take on Liberia at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex on Thursday, 9 October, with kick-off set for 16h00.

Four days later, they will conclude their qualifiers against Tunisia at the Hammadi Agrebi Stadium on Monday, 13 October, at 13h00.

The qualifiers have been fiercely contested, with Tunisia already securing direct qualification as group winners.

This leaves Namibia fighting for a place among the four best runners-up across the African groups.

Those four will contest in playoffs, where the winner will advance to the intercontinental playoffs for a shot at playing at the World Cup.

With Tunisia already through, Namibia’s fate hinges on collecting maximum points, beginning with Liberia.

Victory there would be crucial to keeping their playoff hopes alive.

While the odds are slim, strong performances in these final fixtures could see the Brave Warriors sneak into the runners-up playoff and keep their World Cup dream alive.
