KATIMA MULILO – A family of seven in Katima Mulilo’s Cowboy settlement, who were left without shelter after a fire burnt down their dwellings in July, have now rebuilt their home, thanks to Good Samaritans.

Among those who assisted them is Zambezi Build It, who donated building materials to the value of N$13 000.

The materials donated include 16 iron sheets, two doors, nails, wall plates and building poles. One of the family members, Nakwezi Mukasa, could not hide her gratitude that their cry for help fell on listening ears.

“I had no idea where to start. They came at the right time. When I had lost hope, they came and gave me a helping hand and lifted me up. I am very grateful to Zambezi Build It,” said Nakwezi.

Uthmaan Bhamjee from Zambezi Build It stated that they were deeply touched when they saw a story about a mother who tragically lost her home in a fire, leaving her and her seven children without shelter, and decided to extend a helping hand.

“At Zambezi Build It, we strongly believe in the power of giving back – that when you give one, God blesses you tenfold. Having personally experienced the devastation of losing our own businesses to fire twice, we truly understand the pain and hardship that comes with such loss,” stated Bhamjee.

He added that “it was only right that we stepped in to assist this family and extend our support to the community during their time of need.”
