Louw happy with coach appointment

Former rugby player Geraldine Louw has been appointed as the Trustco United Rugby Club head coach.

Louw has represented United for the past four years, earning 24 caps and scoring 11 tries: totalling 66 points for the club. She was also awarded Sportswoman of the year in 2025 by the club.

Her impressive performance on the field is complemented by her representation of Namibia at the national level in women’s rugby previously.

“I am happy to assist the club. United is a very good club, with good management which supports me very well. With the support from the club and the ladies we can take the trophy. It will be a change for me, as I am coming off the pitch, moving from a player to a coach. We are all working towards one goal and that is to take women’s rugby in Namibia to the next level,” she said.

“We are excited to see Geraldine bring her passion, experience and leadership to her new role, guiding our women’s team to even greater heights,” read a statement from the club.
