Rising professional boxer Jonas Jonas is set to take a major step in his young career when he travels to Russia next weekend to face Russian fighter Evgeny Kool in a six-round international welterweight bout.
The contest marks Jonas’ first professional fight outside Namibia and comes less than a year after he completed his Grade 12 studies, underlining his rapid rise in the sport.
Still in the early stages of his career, Jonas has already shown maturity and discipline inside the ring, qualities that have earned him an opportunity on the international stage.
Jonas heads into the bout with an unbeaten professional record of four fights, registering three wins and one draw. His performances to date have highlighted his sharp technique, improving ring IQ, and growing confidence against more experienced opponents. The upcoming bout is expected to test his adaptability and composure, especially in a hostile environment.
His opponent, Evgeny Kool, will enjoy home advantage and brings valuable experience into the contest. Kool is understood to have a winning professional record, with double-digit fights to his name and the majority of his victories coming inside the distance.
Known for his physical strength and pressure-fighting style, the Russian welterweight is expected to pose a stern challenge over the scheduled six rounds.
Jonas’ trainer and promoter, Max Ipinge, believes the young boxer is ready for the task ahead.
“Jonas is a talented boxer who has been working extremely hard in the gym preparing for this fight. We are very happy with his fitness and overall condition. He is young, focused, and the future is definitely bright. This fight is about exposure, experience, and showing that he belongs at this level. We are proud of him and fully behind him,” said Ipinge.
Jonas is embracing the opportunity with confidence and ambition. “I am extremely excited and grateful for the chance to fight on an international stage. This is something I have worked hard for. I am ready to showcase my skills, discipline, and heart. I am coming fully prepared to make a big statement. I am the new kid on the block and ready to prove myself,” he said.
