The Construction Industries Federation of Namibia (CIF) has announced the return of its annual Golf Classic, scheduled for 24 April 2026 at the Windhoek Golf Club.
Following a successful debut last year, the 2026 edition is already drawing significant interest from across the construction industry and the broader business community.
This year’s tournament is headlined by Hardrock Earthworks as the naming rights sponsor, with additional support from Ohorongo Cement, City Concrete, Putzmeister, Build It and several other industry partners.
The CIF Golf Classic aims to unite contractors, suppliers and business leaders in a setting that blends sport with networking opportunities.
The competition will be played in a Two-Ball Alliance format, incorporating a scramble drive and shotgun start, with two scores counting per hole.
To ensure balanced participation, each player must contribute at least six drives during the round.
CIF CEO Bärbel Kirchner said the event is steadily finding its place as one that brings the industry together in a more informal yet highly valuable setting.
“We are encouraged by the level of support from sponsors and participants, and we look forward to building on this foundation in the years ahead,” expressed Kirchner.
Hardrock Earthworks managing director Johan van Wyk highlighted the importance of such platforms within the industry, saying he recognises the importance of platforms that bring Namibia’s business community together.
“The CIF Golf Classic has quickly established itself as one such platform, and we are proud to support its continued growth as Naming Rights Sponsor,” he said.
Participants stand a chance to win a share of prizes valued at approximately N$163 000, with rewards for the top 10 teams, including a premier golf tour experience in South Africa, luxury getaways and premium golf equipment.
Team registrations are currently open at N$10 000 per team, with only 22 slots available and 20 already confirmed.
Organisers expect the remaining spaces to be filled soon.
