FIC launches new website to improve public access

The Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC) last Friday launched its new official website aimed at ‘strengthening public access to information and stakeholder engagement.’

According to a statement issued by the centre, the new platform will serve as a central hub for regulatory guidance, public notices, publications, reporting obligations and updates related to the country’s financial intelligence framework.

The website also provides information on United Nations Security Council resolutions, as well as updates on the centre’s engagements and initiatives involving accountable institutions, reporting entities, government partners and industry stakeholders.

FIC Director Bryan Eiseb said the launch reflects the institution’s commitment to transparency and improved communication.

“The launch of our new website underscores our dedication to building stronger relations with our stakeholders and empowering the public with accessible, reliable information,” said Eiseb.

The centre noted that the modernised platform was designed to provide a streamlined and user-friendly interface for members of the public and institutions seeking information on anti-money laundering, terrorism financing and proliferation financing measures.

The statement further said the website forms part of efforts to strengthen trusted partnerships in safeguarding Namibia’s financial system.

Members of the public and stakeholders have been encouraged to access the platform for official updates and resources.
