Windhoek

MTC Premiership league log leaders Tigers Football Club yesterday officially concluded Round One of the league proceedings as the only unbeaten team, after a convincing 3-0 victory against coastal outfit, Eleven Arrows, at the Windhoek Independence Stadium.

With their recent victory, Tigers maintained their strong grip at the top of the log standings and now sit clear with 37 points, followed by Black Africa on 31 points. BA on Saturday defeated Mighty Gunners by 1-0 to keep their title hopes alive, but their plans were partly scuppered by yesterday’s 1-all draw against Citizens. Tigers also faced a scary situation on Saturday after playing to a 1-1 draw against a stubborn Blue Waters outfit.
Sitting 3rd on the log with 28 points is Orlando Pirates, who defeated United Stars by 4-2, following Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Julinho Sporting.
