WINDHOEK – Namibia’s undisputed champions Black Africa’s head coach, Ronnie Kanalelo, says retaining the league title is still one of their main priorities and going into tonight’s clash against Tigers his charges will pull out all stops to prove a point or two.
Reigning champions Black Africa take on Tigers tonight at the Sam Nujoma Stadium at 20h00 and Kanalelo is adamant his players are mentally and physically prepared to deliver the desired results against their equally unpredictable opponents.
“Today’s match is very important and both are equally in need of the three points at stake, but without looking too much into our opponents, we will just play our normal game, apply our normal tactics while closely focusing on getting a good result,” said Kanalelo.
Meanwhile, Tigers’ mentor Bobby Samaria is oozing confidence and insists his charges still have what it takes to win the premiership title or even finish in the top three come end of the season
“If you closely monitor the log standings you will notice that from the 9th placed team to the top there is a very small gap in terms of points separation, so it’s all a matter of making sure you collect maximum points with every match that comes while others are busy dropping,” said Samaria.
“It’s a big one for both teams but I think Black Africa will be under more pressure trying to impress the new coach, while my players will obviously go about our usual business. Both teams are coming from the break so the players are still fresh and ready to go. It’s going to be a very fascinating but yet close match for the two teams.”
Black Africa is currently sitting 5th on log standings with 22 points, while Tigers are 9th with 19 points after 13 matches played.
