EENHANA – David Shikalepo popularly known as Exit, one of the much acclaimed Kwaito artists in Namibia brought the curtain down here on the 2014 Castle Lite Summer Parties promotion held at a popular waterhole, Trust Bar, with a five star performance on Thursday night supported by Boet, S4shoo, LMT and Nestor Fly Bek.
And what a fitting climax it was! The highlight of the show was when Exit performed his latest hit album I am the truth with hits rocking the airwaves like Mookona, Koskola daar and Shiimave sending the crowd into a frenzy. But the award winning musician ended up the gig just before midnight when the crowd still wanted for some more. Exit chose his repertoire well. It included popular songs such as My Note Book and Go Hard or Go Home which were released in 2013. The songs were well received by the fans who asked for more from him. Dressed in sport outfit, Exit and his dancing group proved that they are popular in Eenhana and were deserving winners of three categories in the 2014 Namibia Annual Music Awards (NAMAs).
The Trust Bar hosted the after party, where fans had a time of their lives mixing and mingling with Exit and his dancing duo. The local supporting acts such as LMT and Nestor Fly Bek revved up the audience with their duet song Eenhana Town, a song dedicated to Eenhana Town Council and is meant to promote tourism in the green town. S4shoo were also received enthusiastically exuding great confidence and energy on stage. They performed songs such as African Youth, Rock Industry, Hero, Freedom and Valumenu among others while Fly Bek and LMT, locally upcoming Kwaito groups mostly performed cover versions of songs such as Back Up Plan and Mr President.
They put revelers in the mood with Exit dancers clad in latest denim jeans and were a delight to watch as they went through their well choreographed dances. Exit could not hide his joy and thanked his Eenhana fans who have in dozens travelled as far as Okongo, Ondobe and Oshikango. “l shall not disappoint them. These are the same fans who have been voting for us in the NAMAs and for real, l should appreciate their overwhelming support and turnout.”
He got the crowd and revellers from different ages screaming for his hit album released last August titled I am the truth with a song Killa All Star which has proven to be a favourite of people of all ages this far. Exit received three awards in the 2014 NAMAs in the Best Kwaito song, Most Popular Artist and the Radio Song of Year CATEGORIES. He has four solo albums under his belt and has fast been making headways in the Namibian music industry. This is apart from going international featuring other notable musicians such as Shyman from Zambia on some of his songs.
The Castle Lite road show duped “The Coolest Summer Parties” saw many award winning and top Namibian musicians such as Sally, Exit, Mushe, The Dogg, and Gazza holding Castle Lite beer road show promotions in Rundu, Eenhana, Outapi, Ondangwa and Swakopmund.
