Home Time Out Delta trio exhibiting at the Goethe Centre

WINDHOEK-The new, exciting and colourful group exhibition by the talented and aspiring young trio of Jana Nathinge, Tina Nathinge and Vera Line, titled Face to Face currently on a view at the Goethe Centre Auditorium is worth visiting.

“We are very flexible artists but we chose this title because our line of work that corresponded with each other mostly consisted of faces,” Says Jana. The exhibition consists of 18 pieces. All the artworks are portraits using different colours and different mediums. Each piece individually tells its own story of happiness and sadness. Arts works such as A Kiss of Darkness by Jana, a woman in night’s darkness but who manages  to get light exposure on her face.  The piece itself is imaginative, and it says that light is always present. Another one is African Beauty by Vera. The artwork was partially created by doodling and it was a vision which shows Namibians and reminds us that we are all at home. Another masterpiece artwork is Visionary by Tina. The works portrays multiple faces in one. This picture tells us about expression as a whole.

“We actually completed Grade 12 at Delta Secondary School in Windhoek this year. We all attended the same school and art classes. After Grade 12 we definitely wanted to keep ourselves busy and do something productive so we decided to do art. Since we are passionate about it, we all knew each others’ art skills and potential so we knew that it would be a success,” says Jana adding that since they are good friends, they decided that doing the exhibition together will be fun and influential.
