WINDHOEK – Thirty-two people including the driver survived a bus accident when a SADC Interlink bus hit a kudu between Grootfontein and Mururani Gate in Otjozondjupa Region.

The accident happened round about midnight and the bus was travelling from Windhoek to Katima Mulilo.

Otjozondjupa regional police spokesperson Warrant-Officer Maureen Mbeha confirmed the incident in which the bus was damaged.

“The SADC Interlink bumped a kudu, the driver lost control and it went off the road,” said Mbeha.

‘’Nobody got hurt. It is just that the bus is still experiencing technical problems waiting for a mechanic to look at.”

She said that after the accident the bus couldn’t move and occupants had to wait for another bus to continue with their journey.

Contacted for comment yesterday, the SADC Interlink transport manager who only introduced himself as John refused to divulge much information though he confirmed “no one got hurt”.
