WINDHOEK– The local music and dance show scene has seen Equipped Dance Academy as well as Xclusive Dance Crew show off an upbeat atmosphere at the two previous dance showcases here in Namibia.
This timeDance Showcase Namibia is back with a wild assortment of offerings from Dance Domain, when it takes on the Franco-Namibian Cultural Centre (FNCC) gallery on August 1 from 20h00. Entrance is N$30 in advance and N$50 at the door.
Dance Domain is a studio that has been active in South Africa since 2004 and opened its doors in Namibia in 2005. The Windhoek studio of the South African chain is situated in the Southern Industrial Area and specialises in 22 different Latin American, Ballroom and Hip Hop dances. It caters for all ages and sizes.“We believe if you can walk you can dance. So put on those dancing shoes and shake a leg like there is no tomorrow,” says Christelle van der Merwefrom Dance Domain studio.
Dance Domain’s syllabus and dance styles are based on the curriculum approved by the South African Dance Foundation (SADF). This means that if students ever had to join a dance studio for dance lessons anywhere else in the world, they will have learned the dance elements that are common ground with international standards.
