WINDHOEK –Namibian flyweight boxer Joseph ‘Smokey’ Hilongwa has promised to double up his speed, power and aggression when he squares off against Argentinean opponent Raul Eliseo Medina in their international bantamweight 12-rounder at the Windhoek Country Club tomorrow.
Hilongwa, who currently holds the World Boxing Federation (WBF) Inter-Continental Super Flyweight title and the World Boxing Association (WBA) Pan African Super Flyweight title, says fighting in the bantamweight division won’t affect his performance, He insisted he would be effective in all departments.
The dreadlocked pugilist says he has prepared hard for the fight and is ready to knuckle down to serious business. Hilongwa was last seen in action in April when he trounced South African opponent Sibusiso Twani to clinch the vacant WBF Intercontinental Super-Flyweight title.
Also topping the bill tomorrow evening will be Abraham Ndaendapo who takes on Herbert Quartey from Ghana for the International Boxing Federation (IBF) Africa Super-Featherweight title, while another six undercard fights are on the cards to take spectators though the night.
Tickets cost N$150 (ordinary seats), N$300 (ringside seats) and N$10 000 for a table of 10 people.
