WINDHOEK – It will be a long haul for Namibian rugby champions Western Suburbs who are taking tentative steps on the journey to successfully defend their league title when proceedings resume in the highly competitive NRU Premiership this weekend.

This weekend Suburbs will take a short journey south to confront the whimsical Reho Falcon Rugby Club in Rehoboth. However, the boys from Suburbs Park can expect a hostile reception as the hosts would be looking to make good use of their home ground advantage and are still fresh from their 35-10 resounding victory over Polytech in their last outing.

As reigning champions, Suburbs will be looking to strengthen their title defense campaign after closely losing their first league match against another Rehoboth-based outfit Rehoboth Rugby Club, while Falcon, who have been evaded by the league title in recent seasons, would be gunning for maximum points in a bid to resuscitate their ailing fortunes and once again to demonstrate their supremacy in domestic rugby. In the weekend’s other action, Unam are at home faced with the herculean task of negotiating their past an in-form Rehoboth Rugby Club at the Unam Rugby Stadium, while another exciting encounter is also on the cards as United host Kudus at the United Sports Field.

Completing the weekend’s line-up will be Dolphins Rugby Club who take on Wanderers, in what promises to be an thrilling clash between the two teams.
