By William J. Mbangula Oshakati Two suspected robbers were shot dead by a security guard here after a failed attempt to rob a Chinese shop. The incident happened this week at Game shopping centre. According to the acting Station Commander Inspector Karl Theron, the deceased attacked the guard on duty at the shop with sharp objects, which forced him to act in self-defence. Subsequently, he shot them on the spot. Inspector Theron said the incident happened while he was nearby on a private mission and was able to get first hand information on the case. He is not sure whether or not the security guard has been charged with murder, but he was led away by detectives to give a statement. “Until last night, we had no names of the suspects but the investigation is still continuing,” Theron said. Apart from this specific incident, he said, the festive season was relatively calm and peaceful in the area under his control.
