WINDHOEK – Namibia’s reigning champions Black Africa yesterday made clear their intentions of wanting to claim the premiership title for the fourth successive time when the club announced three new signings aimed at achieving their desired goal.

In a bid to rejuvenate the ailing spirits of their fatigued squad, Black Africa has roped in the services of veteran goalkeeper Efraim Tjihonge and midfielder Quinton Jacobs, while the young hard-tackling defender Steven Sabatha completes the much anticipated list of the club’s new assignees.

Cassius Moetie, BA’s executive member said the club is doing everything to retain the NPL League this year and promised fireworks at the forthcoming Katutura derby between Black Africa and archrivals Africa Stars on Friday, January 24 2014 at the Sam Nujoma Stadium.

“We have an obvious and somewhat selfish habit to beat African Stars in Namibia Premier League matches and we will be directed by our habitual power and leadership in the NPL as the official champions of Namibian football to beat African Stars psychologically ahead of the encounter,” said Moetie, who added that beating Stars means everything to the champions.

“A victory against Stars will propel us to the top of the NPL log with current leaders Tigers Football Club and it’s a position BA intends to reclaim as a matter of urgency. Our matches against Stars (24th January) and Tura Magic (1st February) are important preparatory games ahead of the upcoming CAF Champions League clash against South African giants Kaizer Chiefs on the 8th and 15th February at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg and Independence Stadium in Windhoek,” added Moetie.

Moetie said that BA has contracted Compu-Ticket to manage and roll out the distribution and accessibility of entrance tickets for the BA, African Stars derby. Open stand tickets l cost N$50 and VIP tickets are set for N$150 per person in terms of the BA’s category-A classification. Tickets are already available at Shoprite Checkers outlets countrywide.
