WINDHOEK – The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) yesterday arrested Aron Kaiyamo, 41, an assistant human resources practitioner at the Ministry of Education, for allegedly soliciting payment from members of the public in return for providing employment to them in the ministry.
The ACC announced Kaiyamo’s arrest in a media statement on Tuesday.
Kaiyamo faces four charges of contravening section 35(1) of Act 8 of 2003 for corruptly soliciting and accepting gratification from one Luise Nghitamwa of N$1 400, N$700 from a certain Johanna Mavula, N$800 from a certain Lucia Haiteta and N$300 from one Fiina Kalumbu.
The investigations of the case docket have been forwarded to the Prosecutor General do decide to arraign Kaiyamo on four charges contravening section 35 (1).
Kaiyamo was arrested on Monday and appeared in the Ondangwa Magistrate’s Court. The case was postponed 5 March for formal bail application.
Kaiyamo was previously arrested for three other similar cases and was released on bail while awaiting trial.
