WINDHOEK- It’s a combination of the talents of young songbird, Sandra Blak, and accomplished poetry performer, Nunu Namises, who also goes by the name of Truth.
This was Acoustic Friday promises to offer at the Franco-Namibian Cultural Centre (FNCC)’s Terrace on Friday August 29. Truth and Sandra’s fans can look forward to a night filled with fresh local talents. Sandra is a Namibian Annual Music Award (NAMAs) 2013 Best Non-Album Single winner with her song Music. The 21-year-old is studying medicine in the Ukraine while trying to get her music career off the ground. Her style is a combination of Rave, Techno, Afro-Pop and a little bit of R&B with a distinctive Nigerian sound in some of her songs.
Truth made her performance debut in 2009 on the Spoken Word stage and has become a much respected poet since. She has lately moved on to incorporate music into her poetry, fusing the two into a mix of modern and folky poetic songs. In May she hooked up with accomplished saxophonist, Denise Mannel. Referring to herself as an “artivist”, Truth mesmerises with her quirky poetry and soulful voice. The event will start at eight O’clock (20h00) and tickets are available for N$30 at the FNCC and N$50 at the door.
