BEAUTY SEARCH ON:
The Miss Namibia 2007 pageant was launched yesterday at the Windhoek Country Club, home of the glamorous event for the 12th consecutive year.
This year’s theme is ‘Women in Celebration’ in honour of all the women who are contributing to the upliftment of the poor and needy. Namibia’s young and beautiful are called to enter, with the closing date for entries set for 16 May. The announcement of the 25 semi-finalists will be on 18 May, with the judging of these finalists to take place the following day.
The 10 finalists will be announced through the media on 21 May, and interviews with the judges will be on 7 June. The crowing of Miss Namibia 2007 will be on 9 June. The media will choose “Miss Photogenic”, who will also be announced at the crowning event. And for the first time, One Africa Television in Namibia will be solely responsible for the live broadcast of the event, and run a SMS vote line for the “Public’s Choice” award, with exciting prizes to be won by the public.
Two flight tickets can be won as a final bumper prize. Tickets to the crowning event will be on sale at N$150 per person as from Monday, 28 May at Lana Dry Cleaners in the Gustav Voigts Centre, Maerua Mall and Wernhill Park.
