Fifty women from across the country last week graduated from the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE). Officially launched in Namibia in November 2020, the programme provides women with the tools needed to create and grow their own businesses, raise capital, and effectively network with other successful business owners.

Meat fight lands brother in hospital

The police are investigating more than 12 cases of murder, attempted murder and suicide –all occurring around the past weekend.  At Khorixas, a man was seriously injured and admitted to the hospital after being stabbed with a knife in the stomach. The incident occurred on Saturday around 20h50 at the Donkerhoek location.

Govt angles for new home for fishermen

The government is seeking a new partner who will be able to provide active employment to the 612 Okapare fishermen. This follows after the fisheries ministry opted not to renew the current employment contract with the Cavema joint venture that was paying the fishermen an allowance of N$4 000 for the past two years.
