Accused was ‘worried’ about killing white man

WINDHOEK - One of the accused in the on-going murder, robbery and rape trial currently in the Windhoek High Court told a fellow inmate that he was not worried about the case of a girl he stabbed to death, but about a case in which he killed a white man, Judge Nate Ndauendapo heard yesterday.

Chinese national robbed off N$120 000

WINDHOEK- A Chinese national was robbed of N$ 120 000 on Friday by three masked men just before he entered the gate to his house in Eros.  New Era learnt that the victim was dropped off at home after coming from the bank where he withdrew a lumpsum of money.

Mutorwa mum on /Uirab’s NAC appointment

WINDHOEK – Despite recent media speculation that the CEO of the Namibia Ports Authority (NamPort), Bisey /Uirab, has been tipped to take over at the helm of the beleaguered Namibia Airports Company (NAC), neither the NAC chairman, Dr Leake Hangala, nor the line minister, Minister of Works and Transport John Mutorwa, were willing to confirm the appointment.

Heavy rainfall pounds Zambezi Region

KATIMA MULILO – For several days last week, heavy rainfall drenched the Zambezi Region for the first time, it has received good rains since the beginning of the rainy season. The Meteorological Services of Namibia said 48.8 millimetres was recorded at Mpacha Airport alone on Thursday.
